Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Wednesday discussed ties in fields ranging from trade to energy with Edīte Medne, the Latvian Ambassador to Georgia.

The Ministry said the discussion involved the sides also reviewing relations in transport, energy and tourism, as well as Latvia’s support to the process of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

In the meeting, the officials also noted the growing trade dynamics between their countries, reflected in the 31 percent growth in related numbers last year. They highlighted export figures in particular.

Investments in energy, processing industry, transport, agriculture and real estate were also acknowledged by the sides.

Davitashvili and Medne also mentioned the friendship group formed in Latvia’s newly elected Parliament as representing “another successful platform” for strengthening the bilateral ties.
