Tourism Administration hosting promotional tour of Georgia for int'l media attending Silk Road Forum

The Georgian National Tourism Administration is hosting a promotional tour of the country for the representatives of the international media from the United States, Spain, Bulgaria, Qatar and India, who attended the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum this week, the Administration said on Saturday.
The Administration invited the media representatives to Georgia’s capital Tbilisi and the eastern winemaking region of Kakheti, where they have tasted national dishes and wine, and also to the central city of Gori, the western city of Kutaisi and its airport, and the Black Sea coast of Anaklia, where they got acquainted with a new deep sea port project.

Rohit Gandhi, the editor of Democracy News Live, said the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum opened up “great opportunities” for different countries, and highlighted Georgia’s “very good location”, adding the country “is distinguished by its people, nature, and cuisine, and I think Georgia is a preferred tourist destination in the whole world”.
Tbilisi hosted the fourth edition of the Silk Road forum on Thursday and Friday, with over 2,000 delegates and visitors from 60 countries from both governmental and private sectors participating in the event.
Dritan Abazović, the Prime Minister of Montenegro, on Thursday said Georgia was a “role model” for his Government's tourism policy, hailing the county’s “very good results and tourism marketing” in his address at the ongoing Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.
Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili on Thursday said the interest shown for this year’s Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, an event hosting more than 2,000 delegates and guests from up to 60 foreign states, was “extremely high” and added the event’s attraction indicated Georgia’s growing role in the Black Sea region.
The Georgian capital city of Tbilisi will host the fourth edition of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, an event set to host thousands of representatives from 60 countries between October 26-27 “at a high level”, the Ministry of Economy on Thursday said.

Revenue from international tourism reached $3.3 billion in the first nine months of 2023, the Georgian National Tourism Administration said on Tuesday, with the Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili calling the numbers a “record-high” from the industry.
