Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Friday congratulated Georgian nationals of Armenian ethnic background, as well as citizens of Armenia, on the Orthodox Christmas and Epiphany celebrations.
With both the Georgian and Armenian Orthodox churches marking the dates between January 6-7, the PM extended his message both to his compatriots and the “brotherly Armenian people”.
Praising the “mutual respect and love” between the two countries, the head of the Georgian Government noted the dates were being marked with “special joy and great celebration”.
He also stressed the “special relations” between the nations had led to “centuries-old friendship and good neighbourly relations”, and noted the ties were “further strengthening” under their current governments.
