Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán on Thursday visited the reconstructed Alaverdi Monastery in Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region, with their spouses Nunuka Tamazashvili and Anikó Lévai.
Together with the members of the Georgian Government and the Hungarian delegation, the PMs inspected the monastery complex, with Abba Alaverdeli Metropolitan David hosting the guests.
The officials also visited the ancient cellar and the exhibits discovered during the archeological works at the site, the Government Administration said.
They also tasted wine made in the 11th-century cellar of the Monastery, using ancient Georgian technology.

The spouses of Georgian and Hungarian prime ministers also visited the Monastery of Saint Nino at Bodbe, with Archbishop Iakob and the abbot of the monastery Igumenia Theodora hosting the guests.
