Georgian PM meets top official from French Veolia Group to discuss energy, waste management cooperation

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday hosted Philippe Guitard, the Senior Executive Vice President of Central and Eastern Europe from French Veolia Group, a leading company operating in the energy sector and providing services to meet environmental challenges. 

The discussion in the PM’s Tbilisi office involved prospects of cooperation in energy, waste management, and water supply, the Government press office said and noted the company intended to invest in “various infrastructural projects” in Georgia.

Veolia Group currently employs 220,000 individuals across the world, with the Government press office saying it had provided drinking water to 111 million inhabitants and provided sanitary services to 97 million over the last year, while also recovering 61 million tonnes of waste.
