Commercial banks in Georgia loaned ₾48.02 billion ($17,855 bln) and received deposits of ₾48.06 billion ($17,870 bln) in August, the latest data from the National Bank of Georgia shows.

The volume of loans increased by 0.47 percent compared to the previous month, while the number of deposits increased by 0.58 percent month-on-month.

In August, the volume of term deposits increased by 5.11 percent while on-demand deposits decreased by 2.23 percent, the NBG also said.
