The Georgian national women's chess team on Monday won the ninth edition of the FIDE World Women’s Team Championship in the city of Bydgoszcz, Poland.
The team defeated their Kazakh rivals in both matches of the final stage to celebrated the win in the Championship.
Involving Bella Khotenashvili, Meri Arabidze, Nino Batsiashvili, Lela Javakhishvili and Salome Melia, the team competed in Pool A with India, Ukraine, France, Egypt and Kazakhstan.
