Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday said Georgia would “definitely” become a “full-fledged and worthy” member of the European family, and pledged the Government would “do everything” for the outcome.
We must do everything to get closer to Europe. Our declared, constitutional goal and the desire of the Georgian citizens is for Georgia to become a full-fledged member of the European family with European values - traditional Christian values, and not without them, as some of our opponents imagine”, Mdinaradze said.
Earlier today Pawel Herczynski, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, said he hoped the decision of European Union member states on Georgia’s membership candidate status would be “positive” and the country would get “closer” to the bloc’s membership.
Herczynski noted the decision on the status would be made by the 27 member states this December, based on a report currently being prepared by the European Commission.
