Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told China Central Televsion in an interview aired today he was leading a "pro-peace Government" that was "seeking peace, stability and prosperity for Georgian citizens".
Recorded during his visit to the country last month, the interview saw Garibashvili note the ruling Georgian Dream party had managed to "maintain peace and stability over the last 10 years" and called it "the only uninterrupted peaceful and stable period" in the modern independence of the state.
We’ll continue this policy, we’ll continue this constructive, pragmatic policy which is aimed at solving our problems by peaceful means”, Garibashvili said.
The PM stressed his vision for the country was to bring “more prosperity, development and progress” to the citizens, and further pointed out that Georgia could turn into a place of “peace, stability and prosperity”.
He also added China had made “very rapid” changes and called its ongoing modernisation process “very impressive”, while noting the example could be “inspirational” to other countries.
