Georgia’s Special Investigation Service has arrested two and charged six individuals during June and July of 2023 for the disclosure of secrets of personal life, the Service said on Tuesday.

As a result of investigative and procedural actions conducted, the Service arrested and charged one of the offenders with rape and disclosure of secrets of personal life, after secretly taking the intimate pictures of a minor girl from his car in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi on June 2 and later threatening the minor with leaking her intimate pictures.

The offender had forced sex with the victim. The crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 years.

The second offender, identified only through the initials, who on May 28, 2022 had forcedly taken nude pictures of the victim, raped her, captured the process on video and sent the illegally taken photos to the victim’s minor son via social media, was found guilty on the fact of rape and charged with disclosure of secrets of her personal life.

Six individuals, charged with the violation of the secrecy of private life, had kept nude pictures, videos, intimate and personal correspondence of victims, whom they had been in a relationship with at different times, and had sent the mentioned materials to others through the social networks.
