Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Sunday visited Chinese multinational technology corporation Huawei’s demonstration centre in Beijing as part of his visit to China, with Liang Hua, the Chair of Huawei Technologies.
Garibashvili and Hua discussed the prospects of cooperation between Georgia and Huawei in various fields, with Hua providing a global overview to the PM on Huawei’s activities and its 15-year work in Georgia, the Government Administration said.

The Huawei chair praised the Broadband Infrastructure Development Strategy in Georgia for 2020-2025 and highlighted the latest digitisation trends, such as smart ports and digital energy.
Hua expressed interest in supporting Georgia's recent long-term national strategy for the development of digital economy and information society, along with its implementation plan, and emphasised the importance of contributing to Georgia's “ambitions" to create digital, transport, logistics and clean energy regional hubs connecting Asia and Europe.
As part of his tour of the centre, Garibashvili visited the company’s exhibition hall, which presents the latest digital technologies, such as the fifth generation equipment. He also got acquainted with the real-world applications of new technologies.
A dinner was held in honour of the Head of the Government after the tour.
