Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Saturday said Georgian authorities had selected only those airline companies to operate in Georgia, which were not sanctioned for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions officials from the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States, who were on a visit to Georgia in June, thanked the Georgian Government for creating “an effective system” and not allowing the circumvention of international sanctions imposed on Russia, Garibashvili told the journalists.
We are trying our best to develop tourism in the country, bring more tourists to the country, the most important thing is that you know we have chosen the right policy from the beginning, we have identified and selected only those companies that are not sanctioned, [...] this is the main thing”, the Head of the Government emphasised.
He also slammed the domestic opposition, organising disinformation campaigns, as they were disappointed that the sanctions officials had “positive impressions” of the country's efforts in regard to the enforcement of international sanctions.
