The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia on Wednesday released a new video promoting safe tourism in Georgia for the opening of the summer season in the Black Sea city of Batumi.
The body cited Deputy Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze as saying ensuring safe tourism in Georgia was “one of the priorities” of his office.
We have a very big mission and honour to ensure the safety of each tourist - [to ensure] the image of our country - so that every person who travels to Georgia will have a desire to come back”, said Darakhvelidze.
The Deputy Minister said the promotional video demonstrated the “great work” by the Ministry and law enforcement for the protection of domestic and foreign tourists.
I believe that this will be the message that will attract even more tourists to our country, and of course to the [Black Sea] Adjara region”, Darakhvelidze said.
Maia Omiadze, the Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, said visitors felt “safe” in Georgia, and said a “number of international ratings” evidenced the safety of spending time in the country.
International and local travellers can feel safe during their holidays and collect positive emotions [in Georgia]”, Omiadze said.
