Georgian PM, port operator company CEO discuss cooperation

The cooperation between the Georgian Government and APM Terminals, a port terminal operator company, was discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Prime Minister Irakli Garibashsvili and Keith Svendsen, the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

The PM’s press office said prospects for Georgia's port and logistics infrastructure development to help boost the country's transport capacity were also discussed.

Garibashvili emphasised the importance of “open and secure” harbours and the “crucial” role of APM Terminals for the objective.

The meeting was attended by Julián Fernández, the Managing Director of APM Terminals division for operating Georgia’s western port of Poti, and Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili.
