Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili on Sunday extended her congratulations to the Yazidis community in Georgia on one of their main holidays - Tawafa Ezid, wishing them “prosperity”.
In her social media post, Zourabichvili highlighted the “religious diversity” of Georgia and noted it was “an important example” of the country’s tolerant culture and society, “clearly indicating that Georgia is part of the European family and should return to it”.
The religious festival Tawafa Ezid is celebrated at the Yazidi temple in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi in June.
