The European Union Ambassador to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski’s recent visit to Georgia’s autonomous Adjara region, with a wide-ranging agenda, reaffirmed “the strong and growing” partnership between the bloc and the country, the EU in Georgia said on Saturday.

The Ambassadors’ visit, which included meetings with local Government officials and representatives of civil society, business, media and youth, aimed at “fostering” stronger ties between the region and the EU.
The discussions and interactions throughout the visit showcased the EU's commitment to supporting economic growth, social development, and “shared values” in the region, the Delegation noted.

During his visit, Herczynski inaugurated the Euroclub in Adjara’s town of Keda, which will contribute to the region's development and educational opportunities. He had “fruitful” discussions with various stakeholders, emphasising the EU’s “commitment” to urban development, sustainable tourism, maritime cooperation and judicial reforms, as well as civil society engagement and youth empowerment.

The bloc’s “dedication” to supporting grassroots initiatives, local entrepreneurship, and sustainable rural development was also highlighted during the visit, with the EU Ambassador visiting local businesses.

Herczynski concluded his visit with a meeting with religious representatives, emphasising the EU's commitment to promoting religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
