Turkish-German carrier SunExpress has performed its inaugural flight to Georgia, bringing 135 passengers from Turkey to the capital city of Tbilisi this morning, the United Airports of Georgia said on Monday.
The company will operate services to Tbilisi International Airport from the Turkish cities of Antalya and Izmir, as well as the capital of Ankara, five times a week.
Antalya and Izmir flights will bring passengers to Tbilisi twice a week, while Ankara services will be operated once a week.
We hope that the entry of a new airline will further increase competition on the Georgian airline market, which, in turn, will contribute to the development of tourism between Georgia and Turkey”, UAG Business Development Manager Vako Chilashvili said.
He also added talks with SunExpress had run for two years before the launch of flights.
