Irakli Beraia, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Defence and Security Committee, on Wednesday said the ruling Georgian Dream Government would never “cross two red lines” and would not compromise over the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its Euro-Atlantic integration.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili today addressed a panel discussion held as part of the ongoing Qatar Economic Forum in Doha, noting his Government had done its “utmost” to ensure the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration over the past decade.

Evaluating the PM’s address, Beraia noted the Georgian Dream Government was deepening its cooperation with the European Union “day by day” and “was intensively moving forward” on the path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration, including by signing the Association Agreement and receiving a visa-free travel regime with the EU.

Our [Georgian Government’s] task is to ensure, together with our partners, the implementation of the decisions - taken at the [NATO] 2008 Bucharest Summit - within a reasonable time frame, by which Georgia will become a member of NATO", Beraia noted.

He also highlighted that over the past decade, the country had implemented NATO-Georgia Essential Package and received a partner country status, emphasising Georgia’s “unprecedentedly high-level” cooperation with the alliance.
