Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gariabshvili, on Thursday, said in the turmoil stirred by the “irresponsible neo-fascists and radicals”, the challenges facing the world were forgotten.
Garibashvili noted Ukraine was “collapsing”, the country’s 20 percent was occupied and it was “unknown” when the ongoing war would end, emphasising that amid the challenges in the world, Georgian domestic opposition were trying to organise provocation and destabilisation in the country.
We express our sympathy with Ukraine and Ukrainians, [...] we all want this tragedy [war in Ukraine] to end soon”, the Head of the Government noted, stressing that the ongoing war in Ukraine did not mean that Georgia had to be destroyed too and “there must be a war in Georgia too”.
He emphasised the Government had to “do more” for Georgia and its people, to “save the country” during the challenging period, and expressed hope “everything will be well”.
