Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday reviewed the “particular” directions of cooperation in banking and financial services with the investment banking company Citigroup’s Vice Chairman Jay Collins, in a meeting held within the framework of the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos.
The parties discussed Georgia’s investment potential and the specific steps taken by the Government to turn the country into a “financial services hub”. The possibility of opening a global business service centre in Georgia was also reviewed, the Government Administration said.

Citigroup is the largest American financial services corporation operating in 19 countries, including the United States, Mexico, Great Britain, India, Hungary, Poland and Ireland, employing around 210,000 people and as of 2021, with more than $71 billion profit gained.
Earlier today the Head of the Government also met Niclas Mårtensson, the CEO of the Swedish shipping line company Stena Line, Hani Weiss, the CEO of Majid Al Futtaim, a Dubai-based holding company for chains of grocery retail and hypermarkets, and Mansoor Bin Ebrahim Al-Mahmoud, the CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority.
