A total of 2,195 permits were issued in Georgia in January-March 2023 for construction projects spanning an area of 1.68 million square metres, the National Statistics Office of Georgia said in its latest release on Friday.
The Office said the number of permissions had decreased by 1.5 percent year-on-year, while the area of construction works had gone up by 11.4 percent.
Permissions were issued for construction of multifunctional residential complexes, hotels, trade facilities, industrial enterprises, agricultural objects and other facilities, the Office also noted.
In total, 689 facilities (+24.8% y/y) were completed in the reporting period, with 28.9 percent located in Tbilisi, 17.3 percent in the central-eastern Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 11.8 percent in the eastern Kakheti region and 9.0 percent in the western Imereti region.
