Georgian Defence Minister, Azerbaijani President discuss Back Sea regional security, defence cooperation

Issues of bilateral cooperation in security and defence of the Black Sea region were discussed between the Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze and Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, the Georgian Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday.

The officials highlighted the significance of a “strategic alliance and cordial connections” of neighbouring nations, as well as the expansion of dynamics of cooperation.

Their discussion also covered current and planned measures of defence cooperation in bilateral format between the two states, as well as between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.

Within his official visit to Azerbaijan, Burchuladze has signed a deal for defence cooperation in a meeting with his counterpart Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
