Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili pardoned ten inmates for the Easter holiday, the President Administration announced on Thursday.
With the latest round of pardons coming on the Orthodox celebration, five of the convicts were released from serving remainders of their sentences in penitentiary institutions, while three had their sentences commuted, and two were absolutely released from serving conditional sentences.
Orthodox Christians in Georgia celebrate Easter on 16 April this year, with the date marked as a public holiday in the country.
