Passenger flow through Kutaisi Airport up 72% year-on-year in March

Western Georgia’s Kutaisi International Airport served 91,802 passengers in March, marking a 72 percent increase compared to the same month of last year, the United Airports of Georgia announced on Friday.

The number of flights at the airport also increased by 64 percent on 2021 figures, with the facility serving 304 flights last month.

In the first three months of 2023 the airport served 256,213 passengers and 854 flights. The airports body said the number of passengers and flights had both increased 61 percent year-on-year.

Five airline companies operate flights to 28 destinations of 17 countries from the Airport.

The body also noted the Hungarian airline Wizz Air would again station its third jet at the facility and add five new European destinations this June.

It also said the Kazakh airline FlyArystan would operate regular flights from Kutaisi Airport to Almaty starting on June 4.
