Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, on Friday discussed trade and economic relations in a Tbilisi meeting, the Georgian Ministry announced.
The meeting emphasised the importance of the anticipated signing of a free trade agreement between the countries, the body said.
The Ministry also noted Georgian exports to the UAE had increased by 132 percent year-on-year in January, after posting a 51 percent y/y increase in 2022.
Cooperation in tourism, investments and other sectors of the economy was also reviewed by the officials in their discussions.
Davitashvili and Al Zeyoudi are also scheduled to open a business forum and sign the agreement on the completion of talks on the free trade agreement between the states.
