Gvenetadze discussed monetary policy at the two-day event in the contexts of inflationary expectations, fiscal and monetary policy against the background of global challenges, central bank digital money and associated risks and opportunities.

He also spoke about measures taken by the National Bank to avoid “unreasonable inflationary expectations”, and extensively discussed the prospects of digital currency while highlighting related steps taken by the Bank.

Additionally, a meeting with investors at the Forum, organised by Raiffeisen Bank International, saw the President of the National Bank and Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Finance Mirza Gelashvili host a presentation on the country’s fiscal and monetary policy.
