Georgia reports 599 new cases of coronavirus, 7 deaths

Georgia has reported 599 new Covid-19 cases, 3,846 recoveries, and seven deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the last 14 days stands at 5.73 percent.

Overall 19,556 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 22,532 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 20,307 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 2,225 were PCR tests. 

1,644,711 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 1,608,441 of 1,644,711 patients have recovered, while 16,688 have died from the virus.

The 599 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 287 cases 
  • Adjara - 19 cases 
  • Imereti - 72 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 20 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 36 cases 
  • Guria - 46 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 43 cases 
  • Kakheti - 41 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 10 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 5 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 20 cases

A total of 739 are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. Currently, 198 people are undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

18,817 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,357,752 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,255,053 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 43.5 percent of the country’s adult population and 235,563 have received booster shots of the vaccine.
