Sponsored pages and videos featuring war propaganda have appeared on social media and various web pages over the recent days, Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream ruling party, said on Wednesday.

Mdinaradze said the “sentiments” of the videos released from outside the country were “intensified by the radical opposition activists and their leaders with references to pseudo-moral, national and other emotions, used to package war propaganda.”

Mdinaradze also claimed opposition activists were exploiting the emotions in the public on the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, and had started organising “various activities” justifying “ethnic discrimination and oppression”.

The discrimination campaign, in addition to representing […] a medieval approach, puts hundreds of thousands of Georgian citizens in Russia and Georgia’s Russian-occupied territories at a great risk, and contains an attempt to involve Georgia in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war,” Mdinaradze said.

The GD leader said Georgia would continue to provide political support to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people “at absolutely all platforms”, in addition to ensuring humanitarian assistance.
