Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze on Wednesday extended holiday season greetings to children of the country’s servicemembers who have died in service during conflicts or peacekeeping missions, in an event hosted by the Ministry.

The New Year's Eve event invited children of personnel who died on duty, including in action during the 2008 war with Russia and in service during international peacekeeping missions, the Ministry said.

Burchuladze and Major General Zaza Chkhaidze, the Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces, gave presents to the children hosted in the event.

The visitors were also treated to a concert in the ArmyHall venue, where the Ministry’s military orchestra performed New Year's Eve music for the audience.
