Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze on Tuesday praised Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s “concrete and unprecedented” initiative to invest $10 billion in the development of the country’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) regions in the first three years after peaceful reintegration of the territories. He said people living in the occupied regions would consider this proposal “seriously” and realise that “strength lies in unity and development in peace”.
Garibashvili [in his annual report] “clearly outlined” the main priority of the Georgian Government - the peaceful unification of the country - which has been the “dream of every Georgian” and also reviewed the country’s achievements in various fields, naming the existing challenges and introducing the ways of solving them, Bregadze wrote in his social media post.
The last year was the history of our people's [Georgian’s] struggle for peace, support of Ukrainians in an unjust war, increase in the pace of economic development in Georgia, acceleration of the European integration process, initiation of new, geopolitically important projects, protection of human rights, and victory of national interests of the country in international courts”, the Minister said.
Bregadze thanked Garibashvili for his leadership, as all of the aforesaid had been achieved under his leadership, by joint efforts of the Government, the Parliament, and other state structures, and with the assistance of the international partners.
