Georgian PM: I defend Georgia’s interests, support Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday said he stood with Georgia as a “defender” of the country’s interests and he would always be, as it has been an obligation of all Georgian citizens to “think about the country”.

In his comments to the media, Garibashvili stressed he was “on the side of justice” and noted Georgia supported Ukraine’s independence, freedom and territorial integrity, adding “of course, we want this war [Russia-Ukraine war] to end as soon as possible”.

Georgia has also been sheltering more than 30,000 Ukrainian internally displaced persons, while being a supporter or co-author of more than 400 documents to support the country on all international platforms.
