Revaz Javelidze, the Head of the Georgian Government Administration on Tuesday opened the 4th session of the inter-agency council for the Sustainable Development Goals, discussing the progress achieved in the implementation of the goals in human capital and social welfare, as well as economic development, good governance and environmental protection.
Along with Revaz Javelidze, Sabine Machl, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Georgia also addressed participants of the session, which was hosted in Rooms Hotel Tbilisi and was attended by more than 60 representatives of public agencies, parliament, the UN, international and non-governmental organisations, the Government Administration said.
The Council’s Secretariat presented and approved the 2023 action plan for the thematic working groups of the Council, noting that the involvement of both Georgia’s international partners and the civil sector would be ensured in the implementation process of the plan. It was also emphasised by the Council that the activities determined by the action plan would make a “significant contribution” to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
