Georgia hosts nearly 5 million international travellers in 11 months

Georgia hosted 4,862,247 international travellers in the first 11 months of 2022, a 185.5 percent increase year-on-year and a 55.9 percent recovery from the pre-pandemic 2019, the Georgian National Tourism Administration announced on Tuesday.

Figures during the same period included 3,348,333 international tourist type visits, a 133.7 percent increase compared to January-November of 2021 and a 70.2 percent recovery on 2019. 

In November alone, the number of international traveller visits recovered by 70 percent compared to the same month of 2019. Last month, the country hosted 471,165 international travellers, a 160.4 percent year-on-year increase. 

In international tourist type visits in November, the number increased by 97.9 percent compared to November 2021 and recovered by 88.4 percent compared to 2019. During the month, 299,605 international tourist type visits were recorded.
