Pawel Herczynski, the European Union's ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday expressed his desire to see the process of the implementation of the bloc’s conditions for granting the country the membership candidate status held “inclusively and constructively” with the involvement of all stakeholders.
In his remarks over the matter, Herczynski noted the implementation would only be assessed in the spring, with an official conclusion from the European Commission expected in October and followed by a review of the progress achieved by Georgia by the European Council in late 2023.
So there is still time, but I know that the Georgian side has set itself a very ambitious deadline and that work on the implementation of the 12 priorities is underway in the parliamentary committees”, Herczynski said.
“We want this process to be held inclusively and constructively, with the involvement of everyone, both the ruling party and the opposition parties, and non-governmental organisations and civil society should also be properly involved”, he concluded.
