A total of 8,082 construction permits were issued in Georgia between January and September of this year, which marks an 8.8 percent increase year-on-year, the national statistics office of Georgia announced on Monday.
Geostat said 77 percent of the permits had been issued in four regions of the country, namely:
Permissions were issued for the construction of multifunctional residential complexes, hotels, trade facilities, industrial enterprises, agricultural objects and other buildings, the office also noted, adding multifunctional residential complexes had a particularly lage share in the overall figure.
In total, 1,843 objects (+7.9% y/y) were completed in the reporting period according to the statistics, with 38 percent of the completed projects located in Tbilisi, 11.6 percent in the central Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, 11.4 percent in the eastern Kakheti region and 9.2 percent in the western Imereti region.
