Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili and members of the government's economic council on Saturday discussed the “positive” economic trends in Georgia and the positive impact of double-digit economic growth on the country’s economic development, the government administration said.
Maintaining high economic expansion was highlighted as a “priority” of the Georgian government and all relevant agencies working “actively” in this direction.
The council discussed cooperation with European and Asian countries in energy security, while also reviewing current and planned energy projects in Georgia.
The conversation also touched on the “main directions” of the 2023 budget, with Garibashvili stressing that the double-digit economic growth achieved in 2022 had “allowed” the government to increase funding “in many directions”, as well as to reduce its external debt and the budget deficit.
