Prosecutor general’s office charges 2 for coercion, sexual offences against minors

The Georgian prosecutor general’s office has charged two individuals for coercion and sexual offences against minors, the state body announced on Friday.

The office said one of the offenders had offered a minor a ride in eastern city of Kutaisi before unexpectedly stopping the car and attempting to force her to hand over her mobile phone, with the victim managing to escape.

In the case of the other person, sexual offenses were committed against two underage victims in  Kutaisi.

The former offender is set to face up to two years in prison, while the latter’s charges involve 12 years of imprisonment.
