Georgian domestic exports up 37.4% in January-September

Georgia has exported locally produced goods worth $4.09 billion between January-September, which is a 37.4 percent increase year-on-year, preliminary data from the national statistics office of Georgia show.

Geostat said local exports in the country had accounted for 68.7 percent of total exports in the reporting period, amounting to $2.81 billion, 29.9 percent higher compared to the same period of 2021.

  • Türkiye -$325.4 million

The five largest domestic export goods of Georgia are as follows:

  1. Copper ores and concentrates - $753.2 million (26.8% of total exports)
  2. Ferro-alloys - $425.1 million (15.1%)
  3. Nitrogenous fertilisers - $207.4 million  (7.4%)
  4. Wine from fresh grapes - $172 million  (6.1%)
  5. Electrical energy - $84 million  (3%)

Georgian external trade turnover equalled $13.61 billion, posting an increase of 35.3 percent year-on-year.

The value of exports rose by 37.4 percent and equalled $4.09 billion in the reported period, while imports also grew by 34.4 percent, amounting to $9.51 billion.

Türkiye ($2 billion), Russia ($1.71 billion) and China ($1.40 billion) were the top trading partners of Georgia in its total external trade turnover in January-September 2022.
