Georgian defence minister says Georgia sharing “best EU, NATO practices” in cybersecurity at opening of int’l forum

The importance of Georgia’s cybersecurity cooperation with international partners and further development in the sector were noted by Georgian defence minister Juansher Burchuladze in his address at the opening of the Intermarium Cyber Security Forum in Tbilisi on Monday.

The ministry quoted Burchuladze on Georgia sharing “best practices” of the European Union and NATO in its role as a “part of the European security architecture” in cybersecurity.

Mentioning the regional role of the forum, Burchuladze also highlighted the importance of its expansion and emphasised the support of the EU and NATO in its organising.

At the two-day international forum, representatives of member and partner countries of the two blocs will discuss cyber threats, the cyber dimension of modern conflicts, national cyber resilience, issues of strengthening cybersecurity and the importance of strengthening international cooperation.

Organised by the cybersecurity bureau of the Georgian defence ministry within the framework of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package, the event is hosted in Georgia for the third time.
