Georgian finance minister reviews cooperation in US meetings with World Bank, IMF

Georgian finance minister Lasha Khutsishvili has discussed cooperation between Georgia and international financial institutions as part of his ongoing visit to the United States for annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group.

Khutsishvili met Anna Bjerde, the World Bank vice president for Europe and Central Asia, and Koen Davidse, the executive director of the bank, during the visit, the ministry of finance said on Wednesday.

The parties reviewed the existing productive and effective cooperation between Georgia and the World Bank", the ministry said.

In the meeting, the sides discussed ongoing and future projects of the World Bank in Georgia, macroeconomic situation of the country in the pandemic and post-pandemic periods, dynamics of economic recovery in the face of the challenges in the Black Sea region, and issues of fiscal policy for the years 2022-2023.
