Georgia reports 9,400 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 29.7%

Georgia has reported 9,400 new cases of coronavirus, 18,770 recoveries and 34 deaths in the last 24 hours. The weekly positivity rate stands at 29.7 percent.

A total of 144,477 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Overall, 32,470 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 18,284 of them were rapid antigen tests, while the remaining 14,186 were PCR tests. 

Georgia has had a total of 1,548,893 Covid-19 cases since February 26, 2020. 

1,388,534 of the 1,548,893 infected individuals have recovered, while 15,856 have died from the virus.

The new 9,400 cases were recorded in: 

  • Tbilisi - 4,323 cases 
  • Adjara - 611 cases 
  • Imereti - 1,440 cases
  • Kvemo Kartli - 511 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 464 cases 
  • Guria - 344 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 661 cases 
  • Kakheti - 723 cases
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 157 cases
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 122 cases
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 44 cases

5,633 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,254 of them are in intensive care units. 289 patients are on artificial ventilation. 

137,912 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.

1,346,490 individuals in the Georgia have received at least one dose of Covid-19 the vaccine so far, while 1,240,491 have been fully vaccinated, which makes up 43.2 percent of the country's adult population.
