Prospects of deepening the “strategic partnership” and cooperation between Georgia and the United States were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Georgian ambassador David Zalkaliani and US congressman Brian Babin.
The ambassador said in a social media post he had discussed the “difficult situation” in the Black Sea region amidst the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine with Babin.
The meeting also focused on the prospects of deepening Georgia-US ties, with Zalkaliani stressing the importance of close economic cooperation between the two countries.

The congressman thanked the Georgian prime minister, government and ambassador for their efforts to promote bilateral economic cooperation and raise it to a “higher level”.
The parties also discussed the existing defence and security partnership between Georgia and the United States.
