Immediately after the decision of the European Council to grant Georgia the European perspective, the ruling Georgian Dream party presented a specific strategy, with particular deadlines for each priority, and started an “inclusive process”, in which the opposition parties, the Government and civil society have been involved, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said on Tuesday at the press conference held within the framework of the 7th Georgia-EU Association Council.

Garibashvili noted that despite the ruling party and the Georgian Government “opening doors” to all “political players” and the opposition parties, some of the political parties, including the largest opposition party in Georgia the United National Movement, have not participated in the process of fulfilling the 12-point conditions outlined by the Council for granting the country the candidate status.

Therefore, I would like to once again emphasise, repeat and confirm our full readiness to cooperate with all political parties, all opposition parties, including those in the parliament or outside the parliament, as well as with civil society. As Mr. Josep Borrell recommended, not only the government but the entire political spectrum should participate in this process. Consequently, this is our clear intention and motivation. Georgia is ready, the ruling [Georgian Dream] party is ready to fulfil all the 12 priorities", Garibashvili added.

The Head of the Government said that Georgia has been “committed” to the full implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area Agreement, as well as the Association Agenda 2027, which outlines the “ambitious goals” of Georgia’s and the EU’s common agenda.
