Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday noted the “great honour” and a “pleasure” in meeting Ilia II, the Catholicos Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church, earlier during the day.

The Government Administration cited Garibashvili as noting he had discussed both domestic and international developments with the leader of the Patriarchate.

The PM said on his social media “current processes in the region” had been among topics reviewed in the meeting.

He also wished Ilia II “health, courage and longevity” in his position.
