Ruling party to establish women's organisation

The ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party is going to establish an organisation for women in order to promote women's participation in politics, GD Head Irakli Kobakhidze announced earlier today.
Kobakhidze said the organisation will assist the women in the party in career growth and professional development.
GD chair noted the ruling party will be holding organisational meetings in Georgian regions for female party members by the end of next week.
Ruling party MP Nino Tsilosani tweeted:

GD officials have already held meetings with women employed at local organisations in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Shida Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti regions.
Ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party head Irakli Kobakhidze has expressed his concern over the latest developments in Ukraine, pointing out that the Georgian government will ensure the safety of their citizens in Ukraine.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has proposed to create a joint document on National Accord process during the first public discussion about her initiative attempting to reduce polarization in the country.
Georgia has a score of 85.6 out of 100 in the latest World Bank Report Women, Business and the Law 2021, which is higher than the regional average score observed across Europe and Central Asia (83.4), says the report.
At the beginning of the 1900's when Georgia tried to escape from the grips of the Russian Empire and establish itself as an independent republic based on democratic principles and values, local women were actively engaged in this process.
