Georgian Railway profits hit record-high $59mln in first 6 months of 2022 - PM

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday said the profit of the Georgian Railway had hit a “record-high” ₾161million ($59 mln) in the first six months of the year, in comments at today’s Government meeting.  

In his remarks, the PM said increased freight traffic through Georgia had resulted in increased revenues for the company.

Since more freight has been directed through Georgia, the volume of shipments and the revenues of the Georgian Railway have increased and reached record-high figures over the past six months”, Garibashvili said. 

The PM also said the total operating income of the railway company had amounted to ₾311 million ($114 mln) in the first half of 2022.
