Matters of peace and security in Georgia, as well as protection of human rights, sustainable development and gender equality were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Abdulla Shahid, the President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The sides also reviewed current questions of cooperation between Georgia and the United Nations General Assembly, the Government’s Administration said.

The meeting focused on the situation created in the Russian-occupied regions of Georgia noting the important role of the United Nations in the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict.
PM Garibasvhili thanked UN official for his “strong” support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
