Papuna Beruashvili, the 18-year-old goalkeeper of the Georgian Under-19 national team, will spend the next season at Sporting, one of the leading Portuguese football clubs, after making the loan move from the youth team of Dinamo Tbilisi.
Sporting announced the loan on Friday on their official website, quoting the young player as having said "I feel very good and happy to sign for the biggest club in Portugal".
In comments following the move, Beruashvili added he hoped to play “as many matches as possible” and noted he had visited the museum of the club to learn about its history.
The teenage goalkeeper was noticed by the club in his performances in the International Youth Football Tournament in the Portuguese capital earlier this year.
Beruashvili was promoted from Dinamo Academy to Dinamo II last year. His loan at Sporting will come to the end in June next year, unless the Portuguese club decide to sign him beyond the loan.
