Bronze monument "Kolkhish Nana" has been stolen from the yard of Georgia's historical Dadiani Palace, located in Samegrelo region's city of Zugdidi.

Dadiani Palace museum employees reportedly noticed that the monument was missing earlier this morning.

This monument had been damaged several times before. They even left a letter, saying they had damaged it because they had been fighting against idolatry. Now the monument itself has been taken, Museum Director Anzor Okujava told the press.

The Georgian Interior Ministry has launched an investigation regarding the case.

Dadiani Palace served as the residence of the final regent of the Principality of Samegrelo before the region’s autonomy was abolished by the Russian Imperial rule in 1857.

The estate was later transformed into a museum.
