Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has said that French President Emmanuel Macron is leading a "necessary diplomatic move" to prevent aggression against Ukraine and initiate deescalation amid the Russian military buildup at the Ukrainian border.
The French president will reportedly pay visits to Russia and Ukraine the following week as a mediator attempting to deter conflict between two neighbouring countries.
President Zurabishvili further noted that the European security and peace are "at stake," reaffirming that Georgia supports the diplomatic solution of a crisis.
European steadiness, transatlantic and NATO unity and diplomacy go hand in hand, she added.
